tbh I only know a bit of C, I'm not that into programming as much as I'm into computer science, but everyone I've talked to about Haskell says it's a great language, and the community surrounding it seems nice and helpful, so I've been looking into it a bit.

Well, for one, I don't think that Python is a functional language.

I hate Java but I'm taking a class in it (don't ask me why).

I usually just build web apps with Node and React.js

Gonna be figuring out how to program an ARM microcontroller pretty soon. I'll be using C :)

Cool guy
I haven't programmed on an ARM system since like 2007. I hear it's a lot different now than it was then.

the one I was using was the gameboy advance btw :)

Since the 80s, I think! The gba had an ARM7 CPU

You know, maybe Angular and I got off on the wrong foot. In fact, I'll bet it'd be perfect for rebuilding my personal website someday. I just wish I had more time to learn it.

My current stack for flyingpancake looks like this:

> MongoDB

> Express.js
> Angular 5
> Node.js
> SQL

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty happy with how JavaScript has become a sort of lingua franca for web development, and nowadays even desktop and mobile apps. The documentation still isn't there, and the education you need is usually tucked away in an online course or paid eBook, but once you've got a grasp of how all the moving parts mesh together, it's much easier to build the website of your dreams.

I've grown rather fond of SystemVerilog lately, even though I can never seem to get enough of a hang of it to start writing without referring to code I wrote before

Holy shit I have mad respect for people who can understand verilog, it still feel like black box to me until now.

It helps to understand the roles of sequential and combinational logic of finite state machines when writing sv, but yeah, it can be rather confusing to work with the language at times.

The biggest pain in the ass though is that the software required to compile it is either massively bloated, or quite hard to use.
