I stick to physical copies of things whenever possible, so it's paper for me. I still have Spice and Wolf novels to read.

Paper book usually is my choice because it made me more focused in reading, but sometime I choose e-book because of its convenience.

Paper books, with very few exceptions.  If I need to reference a textbook or some other technical book for one specific thing, I'll dig up an e-book for it to read over the relevant passage(s), but for virtually everything else I'll invest in a physical copy.

I do that mainly because I get distracted too easily when on the computer to read PDFs of any significant length.  For that matter, my e-reader isn't backlit, and I don't currently have the spare funds lying around to invest in a better one—not that I'd want to drop a bunch of money on one, anyhow, since like a lot of the other people here I enjoy the physical sensation of holding the book in my hands when reading it.

Interestingly enough, the physiological engagement that you get from the paper against your skin and the smell of the pages actually helps you to remember the book in greater detail than you would were you to read the same book with an e-reader or on a computer.  This is because your brain is better able to encode memories when the associated experiences activate more of your senses.

Les jeux sont faits. Nous sommes fucked.

I won an Amazon Fire in a raffle and I installed cyanogenmod 12.1 on it. Been using that as my ereader and I gotta say I love it. Easier to take with me to work or school.

I don't like reading on digital displays but I'm fine with e-ink readers.

Definitely prefer paperback.

What I'll usually do is I'll download the first book in a series (legally :^] ) and if it looks to be good I'll buy them all in paper.

I just considered getting an e-reader, and honestly my only reaction is that of shock when looking at the prices... what the hell?

If you know how to install ROMs on Android, you can buy an Amazon Fire tablet and put Cyanogenmod on it then use Google Play Books to read all of your books.

Well, I kinda imagined that the point in getting an e-reader is that their battery lasts longer than a few hours, and can be used in bright light.

Good point. I'm sure an e-ink display is superior in every way, I'm just broke lol

Same here, pretty much. I kinda want to read the Index LNs, but well, phone is too small, tablet is too large, PC has too many distractions, and the books would cost more than a Kindle...

Definitely prefer physical copies to E-Books. There is something about reading a paperback that is lost to an electronic iteration. I have a bare-bones Kindle that doesn't even have a backlight and the screen has roughly the same dimensions a standard book page so it's as good a substitute for paper that I think I'll ever get.

E-books are low-cost for maintaining, hoarding and acquiring in general, and there's also (potential) higher availability in the e-book world, and on top of that the traditional things done to books (highlighting, citation, bookmarking, organization) are done more efficiently when one is dealing with an e-book. Honestly, I'd say e-books win over-all, despite the sentimental value of paper books, and in practice I use e-books more often than paper books. I only buy paper books when I like a book quite a lot and it has become important in my life.

I use both, usually I first try to get a digital copy since I can carry the e-reader with me more easily; That won't stop me from taking a physical book too, however.

I'll also buy books I really liked in paper form to hold onto. (If I really really really like a book I'll get a third copy for lending purposes)

I got my first Kindle when I was 17, with money from a summer job, now I'm on my second one...how I miss that keyboard ~

Paper books all the way.
Easier to read for long periods with the phyical thing instead of staring at a screen.

It's Part 1 and 2 of my absolute favourite Series, finally in paper for my shelves

I don't know how to feel about what the JP did to the cover though :-/

I prefer paper books but they are so expensive compared to just finding a PDF online for free, which I can also search through very easily. For example, the book Majmu' al-Fatawa:
I can buy it for $278 or I can read it online for free
