Im aware that they want to bring Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (at least the two first arcs) completely uncensored and fully dubbed into air TV in Chile.
Considering that they used to pass porn now and then, what could go wrong with it (aside from a generation of "ra3d teh m0ng0" jokers)

There's alot of good dubs out there, more so then what most sub elitist would have you believe.  That being said there are plenty of dubs that are TERRIBLE, but there are many that range from tolerable, to acceptable, to great.  I watch alot of dubs, and even prefer them in most instances, but I have no problems with watching subs either.  There are some who get hardcore nitpicky about accuracy of translation, and if that's you're thing then that's okay, but for me the most important thing is the STORY, and I'll go with whichever one, sub or dub, that I feel like best suits the story and the most enjoyable viewing experience.  I feel like most of the sub elitists operate off of this older mentality from the late 80s and early 90s when the environment of the anime industry in the west was very different and the vast majority of dubs then were less than acceptable quality.

Overall I would say that the quality of English dubs peaked at around 2007-ish. That was around the time of Red Garden and Le Chevalier D'Eon (ADV) and Ergo Proxy (Funimation) and even The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and the movie (Bandai), all of which had fantastic dubs; I'd even go as far as saying that Ergo Proxy has one of the best dubs ever.

ADV started out really rough because they were owned and operated by fans; a love of anime and any slightest bit of experience with protools and you're in. It wasn't until Macek came in and showed them how dubs are really supposed to be done that the quality of their dubs went way up.

Overall, considering the entire span of the companies, I'd say that Bandai had the overall highest quality dubs.

The stuff that Funimation is doing now is okay-ish, the problem is that they have to push them out way too fast and they keep using the same VAs WAY too frequently.

Agreed, in latin america there's the same problem only that anime has considerably gone down in favor of sci-fi series. While AMC has a studio to dub their series in spanish and portuguese, most studios have to buy the series right and re-sell them as a package. Until Netflix, the amount of dubs toned down quite a lot in comparison of ages like the 90's or even the 2000's. There's constant Pokemon because Televisa dubs it, Dragon Ball got a full dub with movies included (older and newer). We got a bunch of Bleach seasons hanging around, Death Note had a full dub, Inazuma Eleven got a pretty good dub but it's incomplete so did Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Jin-Roh, Samurai Champloo, and so on. All of them with the same cast.

Here are some dubs that are great, or nearly perfect:

>Big O

(it's what I recognize Steve Blum the most for)
>Cowboy Bebop
(Steve Blum again, and Wendee Lee's best and most recognizable performance)
>Ergo Proxy
>FLCL
(Kari Wahlgren's first gig)
>Hellsing Ultimate
(Crispin Freeman as Alucard)
>Howl's Moving Castle
(Christian Bale)
>Outlaw Star
>Samurai Champloo
(Kari Wahlgren and Kirk Thornton)
>Spirited Away

Some other really good ones:

> Advent Children

>Appleseed Alpha
>Blood The Last Vampire
>Desert Punk
>Dragon Ball
>Dragon Ball Z
(Sean Schemmel)
>Full Metal Panic!
(Hilary Haag as Tessa)
>G Gundam
>High School of the Dead
(Taylor Hannah is the perfect voice for Saeko, also Maggie Flecknoe - who is a great screamer)
>Lucky Star
(Wendee Lee at her finest, Kari Wahlgren, Michelle Ruff - in two roles, and Hynden Walsh - the voice of Starfire in Teen Titans)
>Ouran High School Host Club
(Kaitlyn Glass, very memorable as Haruhi Fujioka)
>The Animatrix
>The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
(Crispin Freeman and Wendee Lee are both great here, also Kari Wahlgren and Michelle Ruff and Bridgette Hoffman)
>The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan
(same as Haruhi above)
>Chobits
(Crispin Freeman and Michelle Ruff again)
>Betterman
(this one is pretty damn good)
>Heaven's Lost Property
(Greg Ayres, Brittney Karbowski as Ikaros, and Jamie Marchi giving the sexiest voice in the show to Mikako)
>IGPX
>Le Chevalier D'Eon
(the very sexy Taylor Hannah)
>Perfect Blue
(Bridgette Hoffman, Wendee Lee)
>Red Garden
(Brittney Karbowski and Maggie Flecknoe in another great screaming role)

Also the ADV dub of Ghost Stories (Greg Ayres, Hilary Haag) is great because they reworked the script of a stupid, shitty, very-low-quality show into a comedy and it is hilarious.  I wish some other companies would take the crappier shows out there and rework them into comedies like Ghost Stories because the end result was great, and I even see the hardcore sub-only guys out there praising the dub of Ghost Stories.

Don't call me a dubfag, like I said, I have no problem at all watching anime in it's original language with English subtitles, in fact some of my most favorite series are some that don't even have dubs.  Some series I've actually taken the time to watch both in sub and in dub just for the sake of comparing them, and what I've found is that the comedy of some shows connects much better in the dubs and I laugh much more than what I did reading subtitles.  Still, some shows are just better in their original language, but it all depends on the individual show for me.  I decide on whether I will watch sub or dub on a case-by-case basis.

Can confirm: Watched the first episode of Ghost Stories; damn near pissed my pants with laughter.

Holy crap that's a good list man. there is not a single show there I disagree with (that I've seen heard? experienced).

18+ no kids allowed

The only other example I know of this is the quite frankly legendary Sextra Credit/Mejoku. I would certainly love to see a lot more of this; iit would broaden shit that gets dun watched pretty drastically.

Also totally Cripin Freeman =/= CrispyFriedMan lol

This is for anyone that went "Man that sounds kinda funny, but I don't wanna actually watch the anime" then let me tell you: Good news! Some poor soul cut all the spectacularly funny moments into 3 videos on youtube, and they're worth a watch.

From what I saw Azumanga Daioh seemed to have a pretty decent dub. Best of all was Osaka, they gave her a southern belle accent to substitute for the kansai dialect and she's all the more cuter for it. If you're in the mood for hilariously bad dubs then I'd recommend you check out Bible Black.

Just you wait till it really goes off the rails. The later episodes are fucking god-tier.

All german dubs are atrocius, aside from Heidi and the Ghibli stuff, but they hire professionals I guess.

Most english dubs are atrocius, though some are OK, meaning they don't make you toss your bawxs

One English dub I found decent was Code Geass - this series introduced me to Anime.

I love Gurren Laganns dub. I watched a lot of dubs when I first started watching anime but realized I would be limiting myself if I only watched dubs, then I just kinda fell off.

He has no style. He has no grace. This Kong has a funny face.
