I'm just wondering if anyone watched the democratic debate tonight, and if so, what are your thoughts?
Personally, I think Sanders was great. Especially the "your damn emails" line.

At the end of the day, Sanders is right for the job to be honest. No offense

I've been backing Bernie for years, so I may be a bit biased when I say he did amazingly well compared to everyone else on stage. Really wish they had reached a bit wider and gotten some more people. Would have loved to see Stein or Lessig answer a few of those questions while they're still in the race.

Both Sanders and Lessig will be on Real Time with Bill Maher this Friday. I know it's not the same, but it's something.

I find it a bit funny how you said no offense :b

Thanks for reminding me this exists, watching it right now.

In reality, all he's doing is pushing the same buttons he always has, nothing has changed. The longer he spends here, the more invested he gets, the more he forgets which life is the real one.

I can't stand Maher, but I may have to grin and bare it for that. Thanks for the heads up.

"Do black lives matter or do all lives matter?"
Bernie: "Black lives matter."

I'm tired of this vote whoring.

Bernie Won this debate by a landslide and Hillary just proved she is bought and paid for by wallstreet and big money.

According to Hillary, "don't vote for me because of my name, vote for me because of my genitals."

The "your damn emails" really got me though.

I agree. I saw an image of Bernie today with the caption "would be the first Jewish president; doesn't mention it because it's not fucking relevant," and thought about how much Shillary truly is playing the woman card. It's fucking disgusting, really. It's disgusting that she does it, and it's disgusting how people just eat it up. I'm really sick of the mentality that women and "people of color" (another topic for another time), etc. should be in positions of power not because of how competent they are, but because they are a part of <insert group here>.

Would you mind elaborating on that? There's no substance in your post.

1000X this, what a waste of a question. That is just as dumb as badgering Hilary about the emails still. I am rooting for Bernie. I really just hope Hilary does not win though.

His economic policy, especially on "free tuition", is not sound; not only is it not possible because that money needs the cmoney me from somewhere it will also flood the market with unnecessary degrees. His foreign policy seems to be a mix of neoconservatism, which in turn traces its roots from trotskyism, and semi pascism. Let's not even get started on the way he reacted to those black lives matter people and the fact that he helped kill a bill which would take power from corporate america.

@Aureolus < just a ping so you get a notification <3 >
forewarning I'm 17 so I don't know too much about things that have happened in the past

what?

> it will also flood the market with unnecessary degrees

All degrees are necessary these days. You can't get a decent job without one. If someone has the skill and determination, why should they be kept from higher education because they are poor?

>neoconservatism

Unfortunately, every time I look up these political terms, I just can't follow the description. Sorry about that.

> Let's not even get started on the way he reacted to those black lives matter people

It was really a bait/stupid question. No arguments here.

> he fact that he helped kill a bill which would take power from corporate america

Isn't that the one that he said had something in the text? Not sure which one you're talking about here.

Money is not just magically made, in order for him to pay for the "free tuition" he will need to do either raise taxes or make inflation, maybe he will do both. I was referring to degrees like gender studies, African American studies(African history has merit) or doing things like majoring in elizabethan english literature; sure many of these things are nice but they're not necessarily and are hobby degrees.

Yes. Your wording wasn't really understandable in the first post. However, this is true. A lot of it would come from the top 1% once taxes are fixed, though.

That's on the receiver of the degree, then, just like it is now. If you make the conscious choice to get a gender studies degree, you have to live with that choice.

The 1% pay more in taxes then anyone else, heck 48% of Americans don't pay taxes; yes but I don't want to pay for a hobby degree.

Which is down (as of 2013 - the latest I could find) to 43%.

> I don't want to pay for a hobby degree.

The rich pay over 80%, when did smart investment choices become such an evil thing. The fact is Bernie Sanders is doing nothing more then saying get free stuff for nothing and I'll make that guy over there pay it, this will naturally force people to hide money in tax havens.

I don't like any of the candidates, rather see Mr. Sanders than Clinton win though. However, I want to see Trump to win for the most dumbest and destructive of reasons haha.
