Yeah, I find the biggest difference that's helped me stay alive is learning to Parry/Reposite and to Critical Strike with backstabs. Also having a lot of points into Endurance for more frequent blocking and rolling.

The game is cool enough looking and has a good enough world for me to want to play again every time I stop, so, that's something. ^^
Had my friend talking me through stuff the whole time on voice chat, explaining stats and stuff since the game doesn't, and, yeah it's pretty neato c:
I beat a boss (Taurus demon) and felt pretty good c:

Though I can see in other areas where the game is lacking compared to first one. I went through the game as a Swordsman (SL 172) and currently doing a Cleric run (SL 65).
As for the first game, I beat the game as a Bandit, had quite the hissy fit with the Bed of Chaos and Nito. My bandit is roughly SL 150 when I finished the game and I've started a NG+1 and currently up to the Capra Demon (oh the fun I'm going to have - getting raped by those damn dogs! only then to get slashed 1000x over by the prick himself~). But at the moment I am to find motivation to play the game again.
