I ordered one. Can't wait to see what becomes of this, I pray they dont become public or sell to some big company
Are we gonna place bets on who's gonna acquire them? Google, Facebook, or Microsoft?
I pray none do so they can keep their libre stance and not be asshats. This coud power meshnets and free a lot of things
Keep in mind they are already using Allwinner chips, and that company is infamous for violating the GPL. I am not sure about most of the software on the CHIP, (looks like pretty basic forked armhf Debian) but I know that the PICO8 emulator is not even close to free/libre software.
Regardless, I still like the device. I am a huge fan of the cheap ARM boards, and I think that the Pocket CHIP is a really cute device, and I plan on picking one up if I can find it on eBay for around $50. I almost picked one up the other day but got outbid at the last second.
