Well, this is a thing. Production looks good, but will it live up to the series name?
Differences from the manga and movie, taken from comments:
Quote:1. Eren's personality
Eren is frightened by Titans in the movie, unlike in the manga, where he swears to kill all the Titans and thinks he is strong enough to do so. The reason is that Hajime Isayama himself asked the producers and writers if Eren could be different, not the shonen manga hero like he is supposed to be.
2. Eren + Mikasa
In a normal movie, there's always some romance. In the movie, Mikasa helps Eren get over his fear of Titans.
3. Setting change
The movie takes place in Japan, unlike the anime and manga, which takes place in Germany. It's a Japanese movie, so they need Japanese characters to be played by Japanese actors.
4. Levi's absence
Again, it takes place in Japan. The "v" is not normal in Japanese, so instead of changing his name, which they thought would disappoint a lot of fans, they decided to eliminate his character altogether. A completely different character replaced his role.
5. Armin's hair
They changed it because the movie takes place in Japan. But WHY DID THEY CHANGE IT THIS MAKES ME REALLY DISAPPOINTED
There will be a sequel to this movie, called Attack on Titan: End of the World.
