> Midway was lost. Despite her unwavering faith in Admiral Darjeeling's orders and the grand tales she'd heard of the North American Navy, all she saw was tall wisps of smoke rising from the northern horizon, and a veritable armada of enemy fleet girls milling about the crucial atoll. The battleship Iowa, regarded worldwide as the pride of North American engineering, stood battered and beached upon one of the low shoals to the southwest. A trio of German heavy cruisers maintained a constant guard around the dreadnought, keeping their sights trained on her sooty white summer hat. One could only imagine the rest of her fleet hadn't been so fortunate.

> She'd try to run away. And on a clear day she might've stood a chance. But just after she'd turned about and shunted full power to her four screws, the Black Princess caught sight of an German floatplane peeking at her from between the low clouds. A burst from her flak battery brought it down within seconds, but it was already too late. Its fairies had already sent their transmission, and by time her internal timepiece hit five o'clock, a quartet of Axis destroyers had escorted her to the atoll and stripped her of her outfit.

> They tossed her brusqely onto the beach. The fine sand stung like hell when it got in her viewport.

Black Princess: "Bloody krauts... What the hell are you doing here? This isn't your ocean."

> Shimmying onto her rump, the Princess shot a nasty glare at her two guards. A pair of destroyers, likely Italian by the paint on their guns. Their training told them to speak sparingly, and after exchanging a glance they kept completely silent throughout the entire ordeal. The Black Princess would make several attempts to pry them further, but their unchanging expressions convinced her to abandon the effort.

> Minutes passed like hours. She whiled away the time by watching the enemy armada on maneuvers. Military parades were one thing, but never in her service life had the Black Princess seen so many combat-ready ships at once. She imagined they must've expected a battle among battles - a cataclysmic showdown against the Allied navies. Yet she eventually found their commanders bickering in the center of the lagoon. Their mannerisms were rude, accusatory on occasion, and their constant references to the charts in their hands signaled confusion.

> Meanwhile, the clouds were quickly getting thicker, hanging low in the sky far as the eye could see. A glance upwards revealed great whips of white lighting cracking against the dark gray. As her internal windglass plummeted, the Princess began to notice a slight draft coming from the northeast. The draft then turned to a breeze, then a gale, before settling into a arrhythmic series of powerful gusts coupled with rain. Even her two guards couldn't help but discuss it amongst themselves, though the howling air prevented her from hearing much.

> A strong and sudden burst scattered papers out of their commanders' hands, and the meeting adjourned swiftly after. Yet just as the Italian had started sailing over to the beach, the Black Princess watched her drift to a slow halt, eyes locked some distance past the inlet. The rest of their fleets soon followed, prompting the Black Princess to cup hands around her eyes and follow suit.

> What she saw next would forever be etched upon the material of her mind.

> A large group of fleet girls amassed on the southern horizon, baring heavy guns and sailing straight for the atoll. She noted their skin as uniformly pale, almost like a cadaver's. Their outfits, if one could even call them that, were cast of some black alloy and designed with toothy, gaping maws that housed their weapons. A handful brandished rifles instead, and wore on their arms a flight deck made of that very same black alloy.

> But undoubtedly the most striking features of these vessels could be found resting upon their shoulders. Framed in locks of white or glossy black, their pretty faces were twisted by a quiet, seething sort of hatred. Some grimaced with bared teeth, some snickered with suppressed glee. Yet without exception, their glowing gazes all intimated a morbid eagerness to do battle with their enemy.

> The Abyssal Fleet had arrived.

~***~

> Commanding from the center of the formation, Admiral Ivy Taylor rallied her fleet. She ordered the destroyers to lag behind a few hundred yards; the battleships would take the brunt of the enemy's opener. The heavy cruisers would follow suit with their own salvo, before slowly dropping back to form a sort of protective curtain all around the formation. Undoubtedly their enemy would try and surround them, and as such it was imperative they keep them at bay.

> The four Atlanta sisters were spaced out such that they formed an impenetrable flak battery within the formation. And the carriers, largely clustered near the center-rear, appeared to be reloading their rifles as the battleships trained their cannons. By time anyone realized the significance, it was far too late.
> A veritable swarm of Dauntlesses poured out of the clouds, engines screaming, guns ablaze. Their first attack targeted the front of the Axis formation, devastating their destroyers and cruisers with heavy bombs. Moments later, Abyssal shells rained in a wide spread towards their larger ships, buffeting Prinz Eugen and knocking poor Takao off her feet. Luckily among the capital ships, only the Irene, Scharnhost, and San Giorgio were lost to the initial volley.

> The struck vessels erupted with smoke and fire. Watching from afar as her cannons reloaded, seeing the shattered hulls of their enemies smolder and slip beneath the waves, Ivy suddenly found a bright grin spread across her face.

Taylor: "Yes, that's it... Sink for me..."

> The Irene, Scharnhost, and San Giorgio were lost in the initial volley. The other heavy cruisers and battleships suffered only light damage, which I'll allow you to determine the HP values for.

> Casualties are much higher among the smaller vessels, with Raimondo Motecuccoli, Emanuele Filiberto Duca d'Aosta, Audace, Nicolosso da Recco, Max Schultz, Thetis, Medusa, Yahagi, Agano, and Yayoi; all being sunk or otherwise incapacitated.

Houki: “It’s time to end this! In Amaterasu’s name, we fight for honor!”
Bismarck: “Storm and stress won’t hind us, for we are the ironclad Reich!”
Littorio: “Together for Vitória!”
Yamato: “All batteries commence firing! Don’t let me go down!”
Kaiser: “New contact, warship, moving fast! Closing, bearing three-two-nine, long range!”
Roma: “All units begin the attack!”

>When the battle cries are heard, suddenly, some first casualties are reported among the KanMusu side, apparently, the sea must’ve revived all the girls they sunk within the last month, making them even harder to kill than last time.

>In addition, the technology level coming from them is so ancient that it is just as powerful to match any navy’s manpower… capable of one-shot kill volleys on even the highest ranked members.

Irene: “Danger lights on, all attending crew, we’re abandoning the ship!” *Irene is lost*
Scharnhorst: “Forgive me, Julis…” *Scharnhorst is lost*
San Giorgio: “Nahhh! They’re…. too… s-s-strong!” *San Giorgio is lost*
Motecuccoli: “Enemy ship has just sunk me; Italy will not forgive you for this!” *Motecuccoli is lost*
Emanuele: “Disgraceful sinking, I’ve should’ve warned Erica about this.” *Emanuele is lost*
Audace: “W-W-What!? I’m not just being someone’s meal for dinner for them, well, this is it from me.” *Audace is lost*
Nicolosso da Recco: “I’ll put shame on you and your admiral for sinking such a beautiful vessel like me.” *Nicolosso da Recco is lost*
Max Schultz: “Off to the undersea with me… once more.” *Max Schultz is lost*
Thetis: “Main pumps overwhelmed, ma’am! We’re going down!” *Thetis is lost*
Medusa: “Next time I see you, you’re frozen dead!” *Medusa is lost*
Yahagi: “I’ve had enough… this must end, even with me going down.” *Yahagi is lost*
Agano: “No… I can’t even… leave, again…” *Agano is lost*
Yayoi: “Mutsuki… do your best… for me.” *Yayoi is lost*
Takao: “No… this has got to be the worst time of my life… I’m sinking… best of luck.” *Takao is lost*

>Akagi and her sister, along with all her carriers, followed by their Axis counterparts, launched not only their Zeroes, Vals, Jills, Kamikazes, Raidens, and Judies, but with their own. They’re not sure what they look like from the IJN’s perspective, but they’re capable… and are willing to put the big hurt as a trio to down the Abyssal aircraft.

>As the air battle commence within the storm, some other KanMusu are having trouble maintaining balance within the waves, taking damage, treating as if they were holding the water line.

Akizuki: “Fubuki, remember the tactic I taught you back in the Philippines!?”
Fubuki: “Yes and our upgraded torpedoes will do the work on them!”
Akizuki: “Take care of the high tide, we’re riding on it! Use the waves to our advantage!”
Amatsukaze: “Time for a surfing, my sister Shimakaze will be pleased!”

>The destroyers hang on to one of the high waves, taking care to duck and weave themselves to avoid being shot at whilst timing their torpedo run.

>They don’t care which ship to sink, as all of them are very resilient, but there is one flaw: the enemy formation looks a bit tight, a recipe for disaster. The destroyers line up their torpedoes before the wave starts descending, speeding up its pace before hitting one side of the formation. Medusa, Shaw, Conway, Chevalier, and Jenkins all go down in one go.
>The battleships and cruisers start launching a combined massive volley onto the front side of the enemy formation, capable of sinking the Nevada, Louisiana, and Arizona, moderate damage on the Alaska, Hawai’i and light damage on the Marigold and Yakutat.

>The submarine teams split up on both sides of the enemy formation, the Japanese team underneath the big wave the destroyers were on, and Italian and German teams on the opposite side, taking Akizuki’s recommended tactic and start dealing big damage with their combined torpedo runs before moving away from the wave, and resuming formation.

>Most of their torpedoes hit home, thanks to their homing upgrade. Heavy damage dealt to Redwood, New Jersey, and Thunderer, moderate damage on some cruisers that got in the way is the Dallas and Atlanta, and light damage on Albacore in its path.
>The seaplane tenders already launch the Mavis to deal with the carriers, with some help from the Axis bombers to do heavy damage to Lincoln, Hornet, Hermes, and the Saratoga, some of their bombs and torpedoes miss completely and hit the water.

>With so many ships on the field, it is hard to gauge how much damage dealt and received in the crossfire, but given the casualties: 30% of enemy aircraft are gone, 14% of Axis aircraft are destroyed, 15 Axis ships and 8 Allied ships are confirmed sunk.

>For non-fatal casualties, the Axis battleships Yamashiro, Nagato, Roma, and Impero took 18, 6, 7, and 10, whereas the cruisers Tenryuu, Furutaka, Ariadne, Leipzig, Tatsuta, and Zara took 4, 3, 9, 11, 6 and 8, respectively. The Allied ships that receive the damage but still live are Alaska, Hawai’i, Redwood, New Jersey, Thunderer, Dallas, Atlanta, Lincoln, Hornet, Hermes, Saratoga, and Albacore with 380, 350, 415, 114, 136, 360, 320, 305, and 375, with their flight decks too damaged to launch their planes, and Albacore took 7 from being in the crossfire.

Edit:
>By luck, the Axis armada manages to sink the enemy Admiral; the morale of the Allied armada is significantly reduced. Ivy is confirmed sunk.
>Despite the admiral's sinking, the battle isn't quite over until it's over.

> Even the best-laid plans never survived contact with the enemy, and Ivy's was no exception. Though her choice of tactics was intended to minimize casualties during the opening phase of the battle, the enemy destroyers had somehow closed the gap much faster than anticipated, pulverizing their sides with a veritable tsunami of powerful torpedoes. Then their opening volley reached farther than anyone could have anticipated, sailing right over her head and into the back of their formation.
> Struck by a rain of enemy shells, Medusa was among the first casualties. An explosion within her outfit scattered loose bits of spare steel all throughout the center task force, and the repair ship sank in under a minute. Similar fates awaited Arizona and Nevada. And as she squinted through her gunsight to fire off another barrage, Ivy had just enough time to track the next volley of enemy shells right onto her head.
> The enemy shells punched small dents in her thick black armor. Individually they did little, but their combined effort managed to breach through to her engine room, stopping the battleship dead in the water.
> That was fine, however. Once the smoke had cleared, Ivy found her fairies working tirelessly to patch up the damage and plug up any leaks. A slight lean forward still elicited no pickup from the screws on her feet, but at the very least she could still serve as a floating gun platform. She was still in this fight.

~***~

> Meanwhile on the eastern side of the formation, the Abyssal destroyer Marigold gaped in horror as the enemy's opener thrashed her comrades. Jenkins struggled in vain against the seawater accruing in her smoldering outfit, while Conway was knocked clean off her feet and sunk within seconds. Both Shaw and Chevalier listed heavily to one side as the weight dragged down their legs, but they kept fighting to the bitter ends, till their wrist-mounted turrets had disappeared beneath the waves.

> Mari's memories flooded back to her all at once. Off the Philippines she'd failed them by being the first to die among her destroyer comrades. Now she'd failed to protect them again, and though they bore neither animosity or resentment for her, their sudden loss produced tremendous strain on Marigold's psyche.
> She struggled in earnest to banish the thought from her mind, but the pain was too great. Soon enough, something snapped.
> Sensing an indescribable energy building within her, the destroyer swung both her rudders to starboard and sailed right into the enemy destroyer line. New Jersey pleaded from afar for her to stay, but the destroyer would hear none of it.

Destroyer Water Demon Marigold: "You rotten, lowlife, imperialist scum! That's the second time you've killed my friends!"

> What happened next would forever remain a blur in the destroyer's memories. She recalled weaving between shots with uncommon agility, dispatching her attackers with three-shot bursts from her twin five-inchers. A lone heavy cruiser couldn't even swing her guns to keep up, and ate an entire volley of her metal fish at close range. Poor bastard never even stood a chance.

> Ducking under shells, unloading her cannon as their enemies struggled to keep up. Till eventually she'd zeroed in on what must've been her target. A Japanese-make destroyer - petite with short brown hair - one of the very ships who'd sunk her and her task force off the Philippines.
> She recalled careening through the sky, and pouncing on the destroyer with her full displacement. But Mari would never forget the look she had on her face. Initially she'd be shocked by the vessel straddling her chest, the sharp claws closing around her neck, but as the Abyssal planted her barrels against her forehead, her relaxing gaze intimated a sense of resignation.

Destroyer Water Demon Marigold: "Eat it!"

> Two shots, right against the main bulkhead. Mari clenched her fist till the struts snapped within Fubuki's conning tower, before tossing her aside and staring down her next victims.

Destroyer Water Demon Marigold: "You want more, huh?! Come and fight me, you cowards!"

~***~

> Little did Mari know, her personal rampage hadn't escaped the rest of her fleet. Watching her graceful maneuvers between shots, hearing the unadulterated thoughts expressed via her hoarse voice, the rest of the fleet quickly began to recall their own painful memories.

> Of all ships, Hawai'i was among the first to break the formation. Her sister Alaska was quick to follow, sailing headlong into the enemy cruiser formation. Atlanta broke off to tag along, readying her Hedgehog for the sonar signature she'd picked up nearby. And underneath the waves, the Abyssal submarine Angler made a beeline for the enemy's western sub formation. Her sister Albacore struggled to keep up.

Albacore: "Where are we going?! Angie, talk to me!"
Angler: "I've got unfinished business. You're free to tag along."
Albacore: "Angie, c'mon toots!"

> Just as the two North American subs were closing to effective range, two volleys from Atlanta's Hedgehogs filled the water around Goya and company. Imbued with powerful spirit, the dozens of bomblets utterly thrashed the Lucian formation and sent all but two of them to the murky depths. Only Goya and Iku survived, and while the latter was afforded a brief torpedo fight with Albacore among the sinking wrecks of broken vessels, Goya hardly had time to react before the Abyssal was upon her.

Angler: "I reckon I'm gonna enjoy this!"

~***~

> Even with the losses of Nevada and Arizona, the Abyssal formation still possessed a tremendous barrage from their remaining dreadnoughts. The König and Kaiser fell within a couple shots from the Thunderer's guns, and a concentrated volley from New Jersey and Redwood took out Bismarck and both her escorts.

> They'd then swung their guns over to the Italians, dealing heavy damage to Roma and Littorio, and sinking the rest. Redwood alone opted for the Japanese formation, destroying Yamashiro and Kirishima within two deafening volleys. Her next target: The fast battleship Kongou.

Redwood: "Y'know I woulda loved to meet y'all someday! Guess I'll hafta settle for seein' ya in hell!"

> Meanwhile, as the two rear Atlantas protected them and the Northampton sisters eviscerated their eastern destroyers and submarines, the Abyssal carriers had been hard at work unjamming their weapons and repairing their flight decks. They'd had the foresight to bring along several large capsules of the black alloy stowed within their ammo bags. With a twist of the capsules and a few strokes along their decks, the alloy hardened within the cracks and restored them to new. Several still suffered heavy damage and even fires across the rest of their outfits, but they paid little mind, and their Secretary's commanding voice saw them raise their guns without a single complaint.

Yorktown: "Carriers, listen up! Our target is the enemy flattops at the rears of their formations."
Hornet: "Heh! We're not pullin' any punches this time are we?"
Yorktown: "Lincoln and Hornet are to target the Italians to the west; Hermes, the Germans to the east."
Hermes: "Aye-aye, c'mmandah! Damn krauts won't even know what hit 'em!"
Yorktown: "The rest of us will target the Lucians. They've still got a massive triple-A battery from those battleships, curve your shots around their main formation."

> A resounding cry signaled their affirmation, as Yorktown loaded a glossy navy-blue clip in her Springfield.

Yorktown: "Carriers! On my mark... Fire at will!"

> As the Abyssal battleships got off another volley, both sides found their gazes drawn towards the sky. Hundreds of aircraft - perhaps even a thousand - had launched from the back of the Abyssal formation and split in two above the destroyer battle. While Yorktown's Panther jet fighters angled themselves against the enemy interceptors, the formation's attack aircraft skidded about in the air to throw off enemy flak.

> Lincoln's Corsairs devastated Sparviero with nearly a dozen Tiny Tim rockets, while Hornet's Mitchells (somewhat of a specialty of hers) left poor Aquila a smoldering pile of metal and splinters.
> Graf Zeppelin fared little better. The Mosquitoes swooped in from above faster than her 190s could intercept them, and their twin wing-mounted torpedoes wreaked havoc below her waterline. The unfortunate carrier might've tried to stay afloat, but their hits had ruptured multiple bulkheads, and she was dragged under within five minutes.
> That just left the Lucians. Apparently the Abyssals didn't even care about their light carriers. Instead, as a pair of Mustang squadrons kept the Shindens at bay, hundreds of Dauntlesses and Avengers hurled themselves at the very back of their line.
> Shoukaku was the first to bite the dust, followed soon by her companion Zuikaku. The enemy bombers showed them no quarter, pounding them with five-hundred-pounders even when they'd been knocked off their feet.
> Meanwhile, a rogue sqadron of Avengers rode the coattails of their fighters and swept in from behind. Kaga dodged, but Akagi wasn't so fortunate. A wave from the opposite side knocked Hiryuu out of the fight, before whatever remained of the enemy attack formation turned their sights to the light carriers at the front.
> When the dust had settled, only Kaga and a damaged Taihou remained operational among their carrier divisions.

~***~

> Ivy's quad triple-turrets made short work of the listing Roma and Littorio. She sensed incredible strain as she lifted her guns towards the Lucian battleships, but it was an agony she was proud to bear.

Taylor: "Yes, that's it! Sink for me, you sons of bitches!"

> Her volley fell short of Nagato, but struck Hiei for fatal damage.

Taylor: "You called us monsters, huh?! Saw fit to deceive me, betray me, sink almost my entire fleet, just to ease your sense of security?!"

> Another barrage. This time it struck home. Suddenly she found herself cackling like a mad woman as Nagato's magazine lit up.

Taylor: "I'll show you a real monster. Come hell or high water, I'll send every last one of you to the bottom of the ocean!"

> Now the admiral trained her sights on the next target. A fine young battleship - tall, toned, baring wide hips and thick thighs - and conveying a sense of majesty seldom seen in any North American vessel. It was none other than the flagship Yamato.

Taylor: "Don't call it a grave, darling. In truth, it's the future you chose."

> Many ships were lost this round. For starters, all non-Lucian Axis aircraft carriers have been destroyed.

> All non-Lucian battleships have been destroyed.
> All Lucian submarines have been sent to the bottom by Atlanta's Hedgehogs and the two Abyssals. Especially Goya.
> The following Lucian destroyers were sunk, largely by the Northampton Sisters: Akizuki, Ushio, Kisaragi, Shigure, Yuudachi, Asakgumo, Kazagumo, Amatsukaze, Sazanami, Ushio, and especially Fubuki.
> The following cruisers were also sunk, also largely by the Northampton Sisters: Sendai, Nagara, Ooi, Sakawa, Tama, Mogami, Suzuya, Nachi, Kinugaza, Kumano, Tone, Victoria Louise, Leipzig, Trieste, Pola, Luigi Cadorna, and Kuma. You have no idea how much the lattermost hurt me.
> The RM Strale was destroyed by a burst from Marigold's five-inchers.
> All fleet carriers save Taihou and Kaga are sunk. Taihou's armored decks saved her, but enemy dive bombers still incurred 20 points of damage.
> Junyou and Shouhou have sunk, as well as the seaplane tender Mizuho via a pair of Catalinas from Yakutat. The rest of the light carrier formation is otherwise undisturbed.
> Among the Lucian battleships, Kirishima and Yamashiro were destroyed by a pair of shellings from Redwood. Hiei caught multiple rounds in the citadel from Ivy's heavy guns, and Nagato soon followed.
> Much of the Abyssal formation is visibly enraged by the loss of their comrades. Though many are cloee to sinking themselves, it's likely they won't go down without a fight.

Mutsuki: "YOU'RE ALL GOING TO REGRET KILLING OUR SISTER FUBUKI!"
Nagato: "We need to stop that admiral before she causes any more damage! Get moving! Tenryuu and Tatsuta, engage the admiral with your melee weapons!"
Tenryuu: "We're on it, Secretary! Taylor, it's time... that you begone! This is Tenryuu-sama's attack! Yosha!" *draws out her katana*
Tatsuta: "Now where's a ship who wants to die? Ufufufu..." *draws out her spear*
Fubuki: "4 years of training and my life is cut short by them!? Damn it!" *Fubuki is lost*
Amatsukaze: "My sister... I've failed you..." *Amatsukaze is lost*
Akagi: "Carriers, just do what you can to avenge my life. I'm done." *Akagi is lost*

>All surviving Lucian ships also get angry to the point they'll start using their powers.

Kongou: "BURNING... LOVE!"
Mutsuki: "Tsunami salvo!"
Yamato: "SUPER POWER ACTIVATE!"

>At the same time, any leftover German and Italian ships are unfazed at the many sudden deaths the enemy has caused. They have to take out some of the overpowered Abyssal fleet quickly before they get to them.

Diaspro: "C-Cazzo! How in the world did they upgrade themselves! Figures, they're all worth some extra tonnage for us, anyway!"
Corallo: "We must avenge our fallen Littorio, to victory!"
U-86: "Team, we must hurry! The Japanese fleet is in danger! Get around them and sink them like they won't even see it coming!"
Ro: "Yes, ma'am! For the Führer of Lieseltania!"
S90: "We will help you find the two enemy subs! Commence sweeping!"

>The two surviving submarine teams are fed up with their losses, and it's time to pay them back with help from the surface. Disproportionate retribution was handed to them, and now they are going to hand them back.

>As the combined submarine teams from both countries line up their torpedoes, the German destroyers actively start pursuing the enemy submarines Angler and Albacore; the former was sunk by Goya before back in Java Sea, and the latter who fled from the previous battle. To distract the rest of the enemy fleet so they can do their job, a few stray shots are fired at the heavily damaged Alaska and Hawai'i to grab the enemy fleet's attention.
>While the fleet is slightly distracted, the few IJN carriers desperately fired arrow after arrow to keep the enemy aircraft from sinking any more of their friends, especially themselves. Armed for the best of the best, they sent in Kawanishis, Kawasakis, Nakajimas, Manshus, Sallies, Tachikawas, and Yokosukas, the best out of them all to stop them.
>As the Abyssals watch with fear seeing the new plane types, the combined cruisers and the few IJN battleships that still stand use their powers that they never used in a long while for thousands of damage.
>Tenryuu and Tatsuta close in on Taylor, draws out their melee weapons and attempts to sink the Louisiana with direct force, saving their ammunition. Tenryuu glows her katana red whilst Tatsuta also glows her spear red so they can do more damage as a duo.

Yamato: "WE WILL HAVE THE PACIFIC THIS DAY! WE WILL NOT SINK! SAY IT WITH ME! WE WILL NOT SINK!"
All surviving Axis ships: "WE WILL NOT SINK!"
Houki: "Four words for you, Taylor! You will die, bitch!"
Kamoi: "And we will definitely have your corpses for dinner! Time to launch... the Emilies!"

>All enemy carriers are sunk.

>All enemy cruisers are sunk.
>The battlecruisers Alaska and Hawai'i are sunk.
>Angler and Albacore are detected and have taken heavy damage from depth charges, along with some anti-submarine fire, receiving 150 and 120.
>A bunch of IJN aircraft by the hundreds has joined the engagement and has already taken out three-quarters of the Abyssal aircraft with minimal losses, as well as some AA support from the battleships.
>Sadly, the IJN carriers ran out of arrows and cannot retreat.
>Charlotte and Yakutat is heavily damaged, taking in 180 and 375.
>New Jersey and Thunderer take heavy damage, receiving 260 and 295.
>Moderate damage on Marigold receiving 185. She's holding the water line caused by IJN destroyers.
>Light damage on Louisiana and Redwood, taking in 30 and 40. A big fire has started on the Louisiana, adding 80.
>Ivy is now engaged in melee combat with Tenryuu and Tatsuta.

>The battle is now 48 Axis to 10 Allied ships remaining. Houki is still at full strength, whereas Ivy stands at 82%.

Eight weeks have gone by since above post, so I have to reopen the sortie in preparation for the second half of this event.

You now have until Halloween to start your second draft. No more than 4 fleets of six as of last time, anyone is free to contribute. If you haven't submitted your shipgirls in time since July, now it is your chance.

Our next set of battles will take place much closer around Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, and maybe Russia. Any ships I still have from the previous battles I fought that aren't sunk will carry over for the second half is all I have now, as well. The same applies to any opposing team's ships that I didn't manage to sink.

Here is the second half sortie theme:

< OOC: Who-hoa, easy now hombre. While that's some damn fine art ya collected for your fleet listing, I'm not entirely sure that I'll be able to participate. Not between sorting out my issues and my last semester of uni.

More importantly though... C'mon mate, it's gonna be the holidays soon! Nobody wants to fight a war over Halloween and Christmas; especially not the Abyssals. The recent rearmament program aside, the fleet was really lookin' forward to visiting you gals this season. Hoppou in particular even snuck out to Kure last year, a feat which I've heard almost ended in disaster.

There might come a day when the nations of the world clash anew, but today is not that day. Now's the time to rest, recoup, and rebuild. Won't you join us, Miss Konohana? <3

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
FROM: Lucia Konohana, Empress of the Imperial Lucian Empire

TO: All nations

Lucia's Log: 20th of October, 2023 AD, Earth

Subject: New leadership emerges, Year 1, Day 1 of the Lucian Dynasty

"It is of utmost pleasantness to have me as the first Empress of the Rising Sun, to welcome a new change in hands from my predecessor, Genji, who has just walked down from the palace that was once hers has handed over to me the other day."

"On my first day as the new leader, I uphold this nation's laws with supreme authority like the many Emperors before me and to ensure the safety of my citizenry and the royal members. It is my duty to not only protect the citizens of this developed country, but also the kingdoms within my planet, too."

"Now, you may be wondering if I am able to condone with the latest events that occurred within the last few months when I was a class representative on behalf of the acting Empress for years, is because fate has plans for me. Since the day when I was sent to eliminate the witch system under orders from her, the Abyssal Fleet attacked me, which then fueled my lingering grudge to this day to wipe them out from the map because of what they did to me and friends, and their reason for existence is simply to rule the oceans with impunity."

"Not to mention why they wanted to show themselves off is beyond my level of understanding, but what I know so far is that they're very protective of what they used to protect before the time of their demises, no matter the cause of their autopsies from their former lives. Given their appearances, if they wanted to live in that condition, is to undergo an endless cycle of hunting down fresh new vessels, both civilian and military, and sink them indiscriminately, then after some time later when it's in the bottom, they'll feed the corpses so that they grow stronger and resilient, until eventually there's no more vessels left. By then, the malice, as coined by our most respected secretary Nagato before the battle of Nikumaroro, will eventually re-sink after about a few months to a few years, depending on the class of the vessel."

"In the last couple of months, I was thrown out of this palace along with my counsel to seek amends with the various prefectural leaders to support me in becoming Empress. After several weeks of campaigning, my efforts have totally paid off after all these years as a class representative, and my wrongdoings throughout my life have thus far been pardoned."

"Nevertheless, as to whether I am able to partake into the upcoming festivities by putting aside my gut-wrenching tendencies, I surely would be able to do so amiably, provided that my predecessor's truce agreement is still in effect between me and Pravda until December 7th, the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. However, I can't guarantee any promises after that."

"So long as you respect my authority, in return I respect your wishes with total regard. If by perchance you make one mistake, you are going to have my whole empire's military to deal with. Our motto is "We Will Reign Supreme."

"Good day, and enjoy the Holidays."

- Lucia Konohana

I forgot to say something very important. As your GM, unfortunately with the whole Net Neutrality debate already reached the final stage, I will not be able to continue running this event past the end of November, as well as being unable to get to #8 on my Lewd Tournament thread due to time constraints. Because of this, I will not participate in any more events started by other users i.e. Eight Kingdoms Event until I can confirm that the Democrats voted successfully against the repeal vote on December 14th. For Worms Armageddon, December 9th will be my last attempt to partake in.

We as consumers, especially in the U.S. didn't deserve the ultimate death of Net Neutrality, but with Pai already serving his 2nd five-year term and Trump not leaving his office for the next 3 or even 7 years is inevitable. Even if we win, telecom giants and anti-net neutrality backers will try again at some point. I am sorry Lewd, fellow affiliates, and to all of the wonderful free internet sites out there, including @Backlash's Flying Pancake, but unfortunately in the case of the repeal vote going in favor of Pai even by one person on the Republican side, there will be no going back past Thursday on the 14th next month if that happens.

As of 24 November at 19:00, I, LucianDreamer, conclude this event with the KanMusu side emerged victorious. Sorry folks, I was really hoping this could go on longer than I originally thought. I also just declassified my aircraft that you can look at in my June 25th dispatch post, the third spoiler box after the fleet composition and shipgirls' intro quotes.

If only I had more time... If I wasn't constantly getting ill and working dawn to dusk, I would've loved to restart this event and write new stories for new characters. D:

I'm still hoping against all probability that they'll vote against it, but there's big money behind the repeal. Dammit, this just isn't fair...

I will be starting Abyssal Fleet Event 2's sortie phase the day after January 1st.

I am just taking recovery time from my last Worms session. It will not affect the ships lost on my last fleet event, so whatever ships all players still have from the previous event has to last. Once I open the sortie phase, any new players will get their chance to make their own sorties until the end of January 31st, and the event itself will start on the first Monday of February and run until the 28th.

Morale, damage capping, formation advantages, fit gun weight, and retreating becomes a factor this time around.

I have the map here, forgot to do that the other day.

Mock battles can start from now until January 24th at midnight. Bring five of any of your sortied ships to blue areas only. Map now extended to show entire Pacific, parts of the Indian and Arctic Ocean, and west North America.

Update: When the event starts on February 5th, we will begin our battles in the Solomons. Bring a fast, sparkled combined fleet with at least one slot for each of your  AO's, AV's, DD's, and CL's filled with at least 4 drums.

Update 2: I already completed my simulated battle using the Kancolle Sortie Simulator with a clear S rank in all battles. However, it took me over 50 attempts to reach the final node and a few dead-end runs. A few times that I did finally reached the final node, I end up with a 40-60% chance at sinking her.

1 week from now and mock battles will come to an end. The week after that, and the pre-event sortie phase will end.

This is the only reminder from me as your GM.

I will personally need a little more time to get acclimated to writing. You're certainly free to embark on sorties with other Admirals however. <3

OOC: Apparently, I have decided that makegirls.moe ended up my only quick-fire way to generate some randomized ship girls to save time, and I took the time to make three ship classes by myself. The first is a Hayashida-class for Light Cruisers, the second are the Shimada-class for Heavy and Aviation Cruisers, and lastly is the Nova-class for two battleships.

No two models are the same for all of these new girls, so once they are sunk or otherwise scrapped for some reason that is it for them. 18 new, but fan-made shipgirls all crafted by me, 9 of which are light cruisers, 1 torpedo light cruiser, 4 heavy cruisers, 2 aviation cruisers, and 2 battleships. I left the entire fourth slot empty for the drops in this coming sortie.

OFFICIAL DISPATCH

DATE: January XX, 2027
FROM: Cordelia Thompson, President of the United Socialist States of North America and General Secretary of the 3rd Communist International
TO: Miya Konohana, Empress of the Greater Japanese Empire

Greetings Miss Konohana, I am hoping this letter finds you well. I am writing to you today to signal the 3rd International's acceptance of your invitation to this year's war games in the Seto Inland Sea and surrounding waters.

Although our countries have clashed in the past, both diplomatically and otherwise, I find your country's subsequent acceptance to the Paris Accords to be quite gracious, and as such have chosen to forgive the small undeclared conflict fought in the Solomons early last year. Indeed, I look forward renewing the extant friendship between our two countries, and cooperatively developing our military tactics and technologies over the coming months.

I have been told that you may expect the USSR's Military Maritime Fleet to arrive in your waters within the XX days, and you may expect the combined North-American/Roselian force within XX weeks. Along with them shall arrive several traditional naval vessels to serve as command ships for our Admirals, as well as a slew of supply ships containing supplies, including paint shells. I have also received word that a handful of non-Comintern nations have chosen to attend, albeit with vessels attached to our fleets. We may finalize arrangements when the time comes.

Finally, I have received word that many North American Fleet Girls are looking forward to meeting their Japanese counterparts. As your mother tongue has become something of a lingua franca in the world's navies, I can only envision good tidings from this. Have a wonderful rest of your day, Miss Konohana.

- Cordelia

Miya: "I'm sorry, President Cordelia, but there is a small error by name for not including Lucia, and I am only a co-emissary serving the Admiral as a stay at home princess. Her Majesty Lucia will accept your message, but I don't have the same administrative privileges as her."

OOC: Mock battles are closed for now, but I am still accepting any new fleets until Jan 31.

OOC 2: Event will start in one week from now, sorties will close this Wednesday 8AM EST.

I no longer accept any more new fleets as of this time, and we now wait for the event to begin the following Monday. We will begin around the Solomons region.

Victory conditions: Attain three battles or the closest team reaching the required amount when the event ends wins. If sufficient time permits after three battles and the boss-sinking round in quick succession, a bonus event map will await you as a surprise, and if you succeed, you will receive a half-dozen super rare drops and a surplus of resources (fuel and ammo).

It is almost time, 8 hours remaining and then we shall set sail for the Solomons to do battle with the Abyssals.

Edit: And... We are ready to start the second Abyssal Fleet Event. First to 3 wins! Good luck, calm skies and fair seas, everyone. <3

Here's the map for the second event:

Spoiler

First Pre-Battle Scene:

>Lucia thought to herself as she sits on her throne: The last time we fought this damn pointless war has to do with their intent to liberate the world of all evildoers, yet we are not evil, we are the people of the light shedding upon the darkness. What fools have dragged us into their ploy only contribute to their agenda, and they are the ones trying to consolidate their power over me.

>Well that does it, we know their game all too well, we have sent spies without even knowing them of what we sent to their borders, we took their vital code breaking devices and incinerated it or flicked it into the sea. Now that we learn of our rivals' ridiculed laughs and gleeful remarks, it is high time this very Empire will strike back! They will soon know the very price for ruining the old ways from the Tokugawa Era, and they will all deserve to float slowly into nothingness.

>And then Lucia Konohana decided to step out of the throne room and give a booming voice to the KanMusume at the Tokyo dry-dock.

Lucia Konohana: "ATTENTION! All right, listen up! We are still in a dire situation regarding the anti-Imperialist enemies we once thought as friends from the previous world war, but they do not accept our ways anymore. They want to rule their world with a fair hand and they are puppets of the soulless, corporate masterminds wanting to ensure a twisted vision of peace in the devil's eyes makes it to the masses.
You may not know it, but I better knew it, the Abyssals wanted to stage their all-out revenge where we are standing, but not on this very moment. What I know by now is that there is a secret route where we will transport our supplies in a hurry, and that requires being sneaky for some of you. What we want to do is to have these drums behind me carried over the barges so that our troops will conquer the islands east of New Guinea."

>Tenryuu Kai immediately salutes and speaks with Lucia with such enthusiasm whilst remaining serious.

Tenryuu Kai: "Give us the sit-rep, your Majesty; our faces are just as prideful as yours."
Lucia Konohana: "Our troops have fallen short of needed ammo and fuel, and that is why we needed you to escort three of our role model destroyers to show them your capabilities in handling night runs."
Tenryuu Kai: "Then we will muster every bit of our muscle to give relief to your forces."
Lucia Konohana: "That's exactly what I am hoping for, thank you for informing. As of now, the waters east of New Guinea had been under a recent bleaching incident, it spread excessively fast for civilian vessels to turn around and were rusted before making back home. If you can't keep your wits about you, then the crimson waters will surely wither you down and turn you into these demonic beings."

>Haruna Kai walks up to Lucia's left side.

Haruna Kai: "Your Majesty, we have the resolve to withstand the red algae blooms, our compartments were already sparkled thoroughly with disinfectants."
Lucia Konohana: "Once you're in their red waters, make haste to find and destroy the source before it spreads into Port Moresby. I don't want that anchorage there to turn into a dead zone for the next wave of canned rations to arrive by spring."
Haruna Kai: "No need to worry about that, we will take care of it."

>Haruna Kai gives her a shoulder pat and walks back with the other ships facing the Empress.

Lucia Konohana: "All right then, get ready to set sail to Port Moresby and make it quick once you're there. We only have one chance to destroy the source and come back here alive. You are dismissed!"

End of first Pre-Battle scene.

< OOC: It felt good writing this. Replies might be slow - sometimes even once every two days - but I'd forgotten just how much I missed this. ^^ >

Rear Admiral Ivy Taylor had always considered herself a simple woman. She'd arrived in this world in the rather simple town of Winnfield, Louisiana, and though she'd had little choice in the matter, it'd pained her considerably to migrate so far from her roots. Throughout her childhood she'd displayed a rather simple manner of speaking, and those that knew her well would attest that this was preserved in her private dealings. She kept a rather simple aesthetic about her, wearing her flowing silver hair in a gigantic ponytail down to her knees, and didn't seem to mind the flecks of dirt, sand, and dust that clung to her navy blue uniform. Only in her eyes - those wide pools of glimmering gold - could one discern her true character. Throughout her time, they had been wide with joy upon her graduation from the naval academy on Lake Michigan, cast in a bow-shape amongst her friends and lovers, and sharpened to razor's edge during the Conquest of Canada.

Today, taking the podium before an audience of thousands, Ivy's visage took on an entirely new demeanor, one of cool confidence masking great excitement. The tropical sun rested heavily upon her head, bringing forth rivulets of sweat even as she fanned her face with her officer's cap. Officers and Fleet Girls from nearly a dozen countries awaited her eagerly.

"... Alrighty then! Let's get this show on the road." Ivy spoke, cracking a wide, toothy grin. "Welcome, one and all, to this year's Western Pacific War Games; hosted by the United Socialist States of North America, and the Greater Japanese Empire. I am Rear Admiral Ivy Taylor, commander of the North American naval detachment for the duration of this exercise, and joining me today is my second, Commodore Natsu Nakamura."

Natsu gave a polite little bow towards their audience. "Thank you, admiral."

"Without further ado, I'll review the rules of engagement for the exercise."

"Lastly, and this is delivered on the orders of President Thompson herself, it has come to my attention that some place little faith in the lasting alliance between our two countries. As long-time miltary liaison and active commander of the International Task Force based in Kure, I say this skepticism is unfounded. While it may be true that the world is not as we once knew it prior to the Crisis, by my mark we have emerged from it stronger and wiser. I may hope, that the concept of war - between any of our countries - seems absolutely preposterous."

Reactions varied upon national lines. The French and Brazilians found themselves quite ambivalent for one, but the Germans all shot collective daggers at the Fleet Girls from the new socialist state in Great Britain. And though Ivy chose to ignore it, she couldn't help but notice a burning anger brewing in the eyes of her second-in-command.

Several days later, about a hundred miles southwest of Guadalcanal, the North American carrier Lexington straddled the tranquil seas as the centerpiece of her formation. It was a damn fine day for their carrier operations - hot, near-cloudless, with a slight breeze from the northwest.

Lexington: "Ey Wisky, Any sign of the enemy fleet?"

Wisconsin, an Iowa-class sailing as escort at the head of the formation, closed her eyes and furrowed her brows.

Wisconsin: "Kingfishers ain't got squat. We'll keep looking."

Here California piped up. She was a tall, rather trim battleship clad in a black cape and a long white dress nearly down to her ankles.

California: "Whassa matter, Lexie? Eager to slap a Jap?"
Lexington: "Naah, not really. I just can't wait be home again is all."
Wisconsin: "Yeah, no maternity leave for Fleet Girls, eh? Them's the breaks I guess."

Lexington wouldn't even think of deserting, but from the outset of the sortie it'd been obvious there was somewhere else she'd rather be. Her chest was still swolen with milk, and she seldom went a day without looking at the photos tucked away in her wallet.

At last, the moment had come. Wisconsin radioed a set of coordinates to the fairies in Lexington's outfit, and the carrier aimed her Thompson high into the wind. The torpedoes slung underneath her Avengers were stark white with a magenta tip, indicating they carried paint rather than explosives. She waved them off as if they were her children too, and protected them with a wing of Wildcats lurking high above their formation.

< The opening North American attack wisely targeted the carrier Hiryuu, crippling her (in reality, coating her entire bottom half in magenta paint) with nearly half a dozen torpedoes. The destroyer Mutsuki was also hit by a stray torpedo, but remained afloat. Light damage was scored on Kongou and Haruna. However, Lexington underestimated the efficiency of Japanese combat air patrols, and as such could not prevent the "destruction" (again, coating with magenta paint) of a third of the three-dozen torpedo bombers launched at the Japanese task force. >

North American for this operation

NAS Lexington (CV-2) - Lexington-class Fleet Carrier - 90/90

OOC: I will go easy on your fleet this battle, no sinking this time, only heavy damage. Any heavily damaged ship of mine (25% health or less) will just limp back to the drydock for disinfecting and repairs. Here's the song for this battle, at least light-hearted to ease our mood, but still upbeat.

>Our fleet has arrived at the anchorage as ordered by the Empress, and we only got so little time now that the algae might soon spread if not taken action. We picked up a small trail of the red algae, not dangerous yet, but Kongou ushered in with speed to follow it southeast and then north where we will meet up with our first hostile contact.

>We are still in blue waters now, so we do not take morale damage. Kongou and the rest of the small fleet switches to white and red coating, white for small and medium shells, torpedoes, and aircraft fire, and red reserved for the big shells. Unfortunately, the amount of paint we have is very limited and we have to do it precisely.

>Once we get into the red waters, then we know things get very dangerous. For now, Kongou will take the lead in the diamond formation and see what she can do in this kind of battle.

Kongou Kai: "Engaging... FIRE!" (Battle start line, she will not fire until the second shelling phase starts, same with Haruna Kai)

>Hiryuu is too damaged for planes straight away; she won't do anything but just sit tight this round. Any more than this, and she will limp back to dock.

Hiryuu: "Not even worth the first 30 seconds of being victimized here, I'm waiting on the rest to take care of them for me, ugghhh."

Tenryuu Kai: "Too scared to speak, huh? Take this!" (She replies to the carrier)

>Tenryuu begins the attack with her opening torpedoes, launching five into Lexington that just crippled Hiryuu and it hit her enough that she's limping. Her turn is then finished.

>Mutsuki is next, her sister is a bit worried about her, but since paint is not lethal, it would not matter much.

Kisaragi: "Come on, sister, we just been under a minute in the match!"
Mutsuki: "I have your back, nyaaan? Ehehehe." <3

>A split second decision from firing the torpedoes too or take another hit is all on her, she now performs the first dance of the fight. She twirls around like a spinning top that other destroyers would like to compete and launched five on the Iowa-class Wisconsin. Kisaragi at the same time does the same, but on the Tennessee-class Calfornia.

Mutsuki: "I have torpedoes in my pockets, fufufuu, take it, nyaaaa!" (Launching the tubes)
Kisaragi: "Fall in love for the admiral, fufufufu!" *chuckles* (Launching the tubes milliseconds after Mutsuki)

>Out of all of the torpedoes fired, Mutsuki missed two on her intended target but instead of exploding, it floated downward. California took 30 and Wisconsin took 45 from the white-coated torpedoes.

>The opening torpedo phase is now done, and the first shelling phase may now begin.
