This shit is pretty schway.

Anybody else particularly interested in this genre of music?
If so, share your favourite songs, artists, and albums here

I started dabbling with Vaporwave maybe a year ago (just listening, though. I can't make music, no mater how easy it may be).

Fun fact: Turns out マクロスMACROSS 82-99 is a Mexican. He played at a club in my city a bit ago, but I'm too young for clubs.

Now, to add to the thread, here's an album and a couple songs I like. I really like how Spazzkid bridges bo en with vaporwave (I've no idea what genre to box bo en into, so I just call his genre bo en).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BSJAAo1uNY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6CFhhW_aJ8
https://nanoshrine.bandcamp.com/track/ahh-ooo

By the way, if you want real fullwidth and not a simulated spacebar shenanigans, feel free to copy-paste this - VAPORWAVE

EDIT: Damn, just discovered this exists: https://soundcloud.com/macross-82-99/mac-libano

EDIT: Also, here's some more "mainstream sounding" (can't quite think of what phrase to use) vaporwave I found recently. One of the tracks is by (formerly) Saint Pepsi; the other one is by a guy whose other works I know nothing about. It's closer to future funk than to traditional vaporwave.

https://soundcloud.com/carparkrecords/sk...superman-1
https://soundcloud.com/griz/a-fine-way-to-die

In reality, all he's doing is pushing the same buttons he always has, nothing has changed. The longer he spends here, the more invested he gets, the more he forgets which life is the real one.

Man, never would have guessed Macross would have been Mexican...
the more you know.

The music you posted is really good! Loving the feel Spazkid's stuff gives.
To be honest, I just stumbled upon the genre not but a week or two ago, so I haven't listened to anything but the mainstream stuff, can't wait to see what other gems the genre holds.

thanks for the fullwidth by the way.

Aye, at your service. I assume you know him, but if you want to cross the "gap" spazzkid bridges, check out bo en.
As to not derail the discussion, I'll just add another song -

Off-topic, but I have to know... What the hell kind of characters did you use for your thread title? Those obviously aren't normal letters and they aren't affected by any font changes I try to make. I also can't seem to find any matches to these in the Windows Character Map. What's up with that?

I am very interested in vaporwave and have collected a few albums, but other than some random clicking around on youtube, I've found it difficult to get into.

>>19534
I've got this one, it's okay.

>>19542
>first video
awful.
>second video
also terrible.
this shit isn't vaporwave is it?

>>19545
I like me some Saint Pepsi.  I have some of his stuff.
I'm addicted to this track:

>>19546
>first video
that's okay, I like it alright...  All these songs kinda sound the same to me though, they all have the same beat.  Still, it's decent enough.
>second video
I like. I like alot.
>third video
I got this.  It's pretty okay.
>bandcamp link
eh.

>>19588
This chart seems like it would be very helpful.  Thank you.

>>19604
>first video
I got this Yung Bae album, it's pretty good.
>second video
I really like this.
>third video
ew, gross.

Vaporwave is one of the only genres that spawned completly on the internet(another one is lolicore) and there is so much to listen to.
I really like ambient vaporwave albums like DARKPYRAMID and Hong Kong Express but also the older proto ones like Far Side Virtual

heres another guide:

maybe it's just that i've been on /mu/ too much, but i can't seem to get myself to like vaporwave without feeling self-conscious, because honestly, the thing is kinda tryhardy in the hipster sense. though i'm really digging the dystopian, machine-like feel of the faux-utopia setting.

also having about half the artists/albums' names be in moonrunes makes it hard for an eop like me to search the stuff.
